All About Kay!

I was born in 1931 in Detroit Michigan.   Since then I’ve grown taller,
heavier, have hair now (grey, but it’s hair), but I’m not nearly as cute
as I was then.   I lived in Michigan until the end of WWII then moved to
Southern California.  After high school, a couple years of college and a
year of nursing school, I joined the Navy to see the world.  Well... I
didn’t see the whole world, that came later, but I was transported
immediately to the east coast.

While taking Electronics in the Navy I met my husband.  So after a
couple years I left the Navy and got married.  Following in quick
succession we had a son, moved back to California, had two more sons.
And the next number of years I spent my time as housewife and mother.

After 25 years of what passed for wedded bliss, we were divorced and I
was on my own... for the first time really.  I worked for a tee shirt
store, Apple Computer and VLSI before finally being able to retire and
take it easy again.  :-)  I traveled as much as I could....  England,
Australia, Canada (numerous times), England, Germany and Austria, Spain,
England (what can I say, I like it there), Australia again, France, and
England again.  Oh yeah... and France again.  :-)  Also a few places
here and there around the US.  And I’m not planning on stopping any time soon.

How did I get here?  That’s an equally long story.  While occasionally
watching Highlander on TV, I was struck (not as in hit, but rather as
dumb! <eg>) by a guest actor playing a character named Methos.   Within
a day I had joined his fan club, and within a couple months I was
Coordinator of the Northern California Region, and signed up (with plane
tickets in hand) for a convention five months in the future!  I had
never been in a fan club, didn’t know what a convention was, and was too
shy to meet new people.  Even now, I can’t believe I did all that.  And
basically the rest is history.   I have acquired (almost) all the
friends I have now either directly or indirectly from that fateful
decision to join the fan club.  And they are spread around the world.

My other interests are reading (mostly science fiction), watching TV
(mostly scifi), cross-stitching, and spending many hours a day on the
computer/internet.  I do not do windows, floors, cooking or yardwork.
(All right... actually I do, but as little as possible)

All this had led me directly to where I am now... the Official Font of
Wisdom for the Jayne Appreciation Zone.  Jayne, whom I’ve never met.  :-)

If you have any questions, just take a number and be seated over there
against that wall....
